Massage therapy is one of the fastest rising occupations in Canada. It is a great career path, with great financial opportunities, and a great working environment. The massage therapist occupation is regulated, and only people with the required training and licensing are allowed to use the term massage therapist when referring to themselves. All provinces have different regulations regarding the necessary training, and the exam at the end of the training. Most of the provinces require between 2000 hours and 3000 hours in British Columbia as a minimum training. Not all the schools are accredited, and what that means is that if you take courses in a non-accredited school you might not get the necessary education to pass the exam.
It is very important to choose wisely a massage school, and sometimes this process takes a bit of resources.
